The Mayors Association of Portage, Stark and Summit Counties, referred to informally as MAPSS, works on behalf of the region’s public and private sector. MAPSS is a non-partisan organization comprised of the chief elected official of 25 communities. More

Our Mission

The primary roles of MAPSS is to:

• Promote the development of effective civic policy;
• Strengthen cross-community relationships that lead to growth and improved efficiencies;
• Provide input to state and federal officials on critical issues facing communities of all sizes;
  Identify and mobilize public and private resources that create economic growth and sustainable jobs; and
• Create a forum and trusted network for local officials to share information, experiences, opportunities and challenges.
